    I always said that if you combined the body and thickness of the green channel and mixed it with the gain capabilites of the red then you'd have the perfect amp... I gave up on mine and sold it. Bought a JCM800...sold that...now have a Vintage Modern :) Love the VM!!!

    I bought a new Vintage Modern. Does anyone know what brand the stock Marshall branded preamp tubes are? I remember the stock tubes in my DSL were crap and when I changed them they immediately made my tone a whole lot better. Has this changed with recent Marshalls?

    lets say for a stock DSL? Just wondering how much difference I will hear in the tone. I used to own one and got some great results with NOS tubes in there. But will the OT, PT, choke etc have much of a bearing? If so how much of a bearing will it have at lower volumes compared to when its cranked?
