    Weird VM2266 footswitch issue

I've been thinking about this, and tell me if i'm off course here but... If the DR circuit is currently switching when I press the switch twice, that would mean that the circuit is switching on the 'rising edge' of a signal being engaged. So turning on the signal switches the signal both ways...

    Weird VM2266 footswitch issue

Both switches now installed are latching, but only the reverb works. So it seems weird to swap the verb switch for a momentary one. But i'll order a momentary switch and test anyway. Cheers

    Weird VM2266 footswitch issue

Hello, I have an issue with my 2266 footswitch. It was being intermittent and not always working, both the dynamic range and reverb switches. I figured out that the cable had become damaged near where it enters the chassis, so I re-cut, stripped and soldered the wires back to the switches...

    Confusion over biasing VM2266

Thank you pedecamp, I will check that out. Cheers

    Confusion over biasing VM2266

Ok I think that makes sense to me, my tech did also mention the 60-70% thing so it seems like he knows what he's doing. I still dont understand how the bias could be too high or low, when the 2266 has no apparent way of raising or lowering the plate voltage. You've helped me enough though, so...

    Confusion over biasing VM2266

I assume all 2266 have the same plate voltage right? Everything I read about biasing the 2266 just said to measure the mV at 48. I still dont understand how the bias would be too high in this amp, it dosent have independant controls for each tube just a trim shared by both. I have emailed him to...

    Confusion over biasing VM2266

Earlier in the year I bought all new tubes for my 2266 (Shug pre's and matched jj kt66s). I decided to bias the tubes myself following posts on this forum and from Steve Dawson on the other place that I can remeber the name of right now. Amp on, speaker connected, wait 10 mins, dmm set to 200...

Celestion K-100 (clean, crunch and high gain demo)

I have a k-85 (same or similar to k-100) which I had in my Haze 40. It tightened up the low end nicely. I cant really judge it beyond that cuz my Haze sounded like crap in whatever I plugged into. Sold the Haze and got a VM, still trying to sell the 85, but no one's interested.

Am I the only *No Treble* on a Marshall dude?

I just leave all my knobs at 12 o'clock, looks so much tidier imo.

    Picked up a new 2203x....

Mmmm, I could really go for some science right now, anyone else hungry? But seriously, I'd like to know why this is considered by some to be bad for amp, I'm genuinely interested, not trying to take any 'side'. Cheers

What's a fair price for a Vintage Modern 50 watt head (2266) in perfect condition?

I really dont understand the hate for the reverb. I appreciate it isn't very versatile, but it nails that 60's plate sound no? Sounds like Cream (the band) to me, suits the amp really well.

What's a fair price for a Vintage Modern 50 watt head (2266) in perfect condition?

Maybe it's a uk/us thing but I paid £200 for my 2266, although it did need a re-tube (£100) but still. I guess Marahall stuff is cheaper in the uk?

    G12K-85 from 1985 value?

Yeah they take a pounding and stay tight, very popular with metal players so I've read. Maybe if I hold onto it long enough, hair-metal will make a comeback and the speaker might become a holy-grail item for 60 year old men with perms.

    G12K-85 from 1985 value?

I think given the lack of musical activity in my area, that could take a while. I suppose I should just give ebay a shot. I've just never sold anything on there before and I'm a bit apprehensive. But, it's suppose it better than collecting dust in my wardrobe. Cheers

    G12K-85 from 1985 value?

I have a Celestion G12K-85 made in England from 1985. I dont need it and want to sell it, but I dont know what to price it at. They are not that common in the used market from what I can tell. Does its age and MIE status add any appreciation to its value at all, or is it the same as your...

VM 2244 sometimes not turning on

Well I had a look inside and couldn't see any obvious issues. So, it looks like I'll just have to take it to a tech. Good job there are no gigs at the moment Cheers chaps

VM 2244 sometimes not turning on

Well tonight It cut out a couple hours into our rehearsal. What do you guys think is the most likely culprit, power tube or pre? I think I'm gonna open it up tomorrow and see if there are any problems I can see. Any thing else I can check besides bad connection or bulging caps? Cheers

    Vintage Modern 2266 volume

I'm using a 2266 at the moment with my band and I barely go over half way. Our drummer is in his 60's though so, there is that.

VM 2244 sometimes not turning on

Hi guys I think I might have an issue with my 50w VM. A couple of rehearsals ago, I tried switching to full power after being on standby for a few minutes and nothing happened. No sound coming from the cab at all, not even buzzing/hum etc. So I power it completely off, turn it on again, and it...
