I've listened to the noise up to 25 minutes at a time at 5 random times over the past couple of days. The noise always lasts every 30 seconds ± 4 seconds followed by no noise that lasts 90 seconds ± 15 seconds (noise---no noise---noise---no noise---etc.). One of the random times I listened...
I put a 5751 in V1 and it seemed to reduce the gain/volume of each channel. I play at lower levels so this is nice as I have more knob rotation with less effect.
Apparently 5751 has 70% of the gain and 12AT7 has a 60% of the gain.
I shouldn't have 60Hz buzz which humbuckers, should I? The overdrive channels are definitely noisy while not playing though. If I turn my volume off on the guitar there is a slight hiss but when I have it at max it is more so like you hear in the clip. If I touch any metal on the guitar (i.e...
Here is a link to the schematics. It's the jvm410-60-02-iss2-1.pdf file. I'm not accustom to schematics but what it looks like I'm seeing is that R92 (1K0 resistor to V6b) and R93 (220K resistor to V6a) are on each side of the grid. R92 is direct from the input connector and the R93 looks to...
Sorry, yes that is correct. So when the volume is at max the noise is at max, when the volume is off there is no noise (i.e. the weird buzzing nor the typical gain hiss).
One thing I forgot to mention was that yesterday morning around 2:30 am the noise went away while I was trying to diagnose if it was an electrical device causing this. I went to bed then woke up and the noise was back. I meant to check it around the same time this morning but forgot. I'll...
How would I diagnose a leaking coupling cap? I should take the amp somewhere else and test it out but right now I don't have anywhere close to do that.
No it doesn't. It is proportional to the volume level.
I was hoping that this would be the problem due to an easy fix but unfortunately it didn't solve it. It would be strange if it did fix it though since I had a trouble free 6 weeks before this began.
I am in a house and not an apartment. I was hoping not to have to spend any money to resolve...
I forgot to mention that I did do that. Especially when I moved it all to another room. It was the furthest away from all electronics in the house.
I uploaded a better and longer video to capture the nuances.
I recently purchased a JVM410h a few months ago. Everything has been good on it until a few weeks ago. I'm now getting an intermittent buzzing that sounds like Morse code. It is very random with no seemingly rhyme or reason of why it is occurring. This is what I'm hearing. I took the video...
