    Getting a vintage tone?

I agree! JTM tones with more gain. Get those classic cream, hendrix sounds in Low Range and 70s grind in High Range! Its not a clear as my DSL as the VM is mid heavy IMHO. But thats what I like about it.:)

    Getting a vintage tone?

I agree. My v30s sounded great for mid 80's upward. Those greenbacks have some really warm mids. With them being a lower rated speaker (25watts) They brake up that little bit earlier too. Which can be a pro or a con. With a plexi, def a pro for me.

What brand of tubes are in the YJM100?

Sweet. I was looking into these and they have rave reviews! Cost a fair amount in comparrison to the EHX and JJ'S too! If this is true it may save me the best part of 90 quid :) Is thats whats in the JVM?

    DSL 50 Set up

I also play the green channel. With the button out I have the pre-amp gain on 10 with a fulldrive2 infront of it. Sounds awesome. With the button in - the pre-amp gain dial on 7-8 with the fulldrive on. I use my vol on my les paul at about 6 and raise it for solos.:headbanger:

Tell me about the Vintage Modern

I have the 50w and think its great. It is quite heavy in the mids I personally think and has a little less sparkle than the DSL on the lower range which can be good or bad depending on what you want. The gain is thick without being raw like my old 2204 but my Jtm did have a little more of...

    The YJM-100

Hi guys. Ive been looking at The two new signature amps ( AFD and YJM ) and have a few questions. The Amps to me look amazing. The features look great..but its the price tag that can be a put off. The YJM for example looks like the dream plexi design made with modern features. I have owned 2...

    Just bought a new DSL50

Thanks guys, I have a EI tube which i'll stick in the v2 and I have 2 ehx which i'll stick in v3 and v4. Maybe order a Tungsol then ken? For the 1st position? Took my head in today as it needs the effects loop looking at and my EL34M's. My tech said they were good quality valves and should be...

    Just bought a new DSL50

Hi guys, a little help needed if you would'nt mind. Just bought a 1998 marshall dsl. By the looks it has the original pre-amps in and some JJ's in the power tube section. Now i'm thinking of bringing it back to life again. Any suggestions on the pre-amp section-new tubes and what positions...

To loop or not to loop

I hate reverb in front of an amp. Its to much. Even dialing it down. Delay can be overbearing too IMO. Thats one thing that lets my 2203 down, loops are a must for me. Especially the new marshall ones which with a push of a button takes the loop out the circuit. Have one on my VM. Great!

    'Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere....

I stick mine through the effects loop. Sounds great. Especailly the way it ramps up and down like a real Leslie.

Ceriatone JTM45 clone. Has anyone tried one?

Had no problems with it. Just needed something with more flexibility for the music I was playing. JTM had no fx loop etc. It sounded great BUT I love to put my delay/reverb etc in an fx loop and the one bought was off ebay and didnt have one. For Hendrix it sounded awesome but I realised I only...

    Is Robin Trower playing 900's??

I've heard poor reviews about the 900 series ESPECIALLY on this forum. Although i'm thinking if they're good enough for Robin..surely they are good enough for us mere mortals?

Ceriatone JTM45 clone. Has anyone tried one?

I had a custom green one. I fixed a Marshall plate to it and took the ceriatone off. I thought it sounded superb. Big ballsy tone. Awesome tones with my strat. Had some gold lions kt66 in the power amp and an old Bremnar ( I think thats how you spell it ) in the 1st position in the pre amp...

    I want the JCM800 2205 sound!

Hi, I've noticed in a few posts you rave on about this amp and it has me interested :) I used to have the Marshall 25/50 which was the same as the silver jubilee. When the jubille got discontinued they carried on the model but changed the tolex to black and called it the 25/50 has far as im...
