Origin 20H vs DSL20HR
I’ve also had both, but I got the most mileage out of the Origin, which I still have. (The DSL I sold to get an SC20.). At the end of the day, you can use pedals to make the Origin go more into modern metal/hard rock territory, but I never found a way to get the dsl to sound more like the Origin...- dandemay

NGD Gibson LP Special TV Yellow
Hands down my #1 since the day I got it is a 2005(?) Gibson LP Special double cut with the worn TV Yellow finish my mom gave me as a graduation present. P90s in an LP into a Marshall is (to my taste) hands down the best guitar sound you can make. Happy NGD! -

amp modelers/cab simulation users
Don't know if you consider them major or not, but I just saw Jimmy Eat World this past week end and they only use modeling amps (pretty sure they use Kempers, but I could be wrong on that). I also am pretty sure the same was true of when I saw Blink 182 because you saw no amps at all on stage...- dandemay

Regarding modeling, a headrush MX5 can be had for just a little bit more than what some of the pedals you are asking about cost ( I got mine for $325 used) and have a range of different Marshall models in it, along with other stuff if you feel like rocking a tweed amp for an afternoon.
