I was on the forum for a good few years but for whatever reason I seemed to drift away. I found a lot of Internet searches brought me here so decided I may as well join in again.
So hello again. 😊
You are taking a lot of stuff Dave said & leaving stuff out. I watch Tone-Talk & it's been stated many times that the amp was stock as in no mods. ED also said that Jose did some work & ED repaid the favour by push the mods even though they weren't done on his amp..... it worked shall we say.
I finally managed to get one last year & I love it. Heaviest most distorted pickup ever made to my knowledge. I feel that is the reason it didn't do that great cause it was kinda a one trick pony & unless you play in a death metal or thrash band it was too much for most.
The Livewire stuff in...
My Marshall crapped out again a couple of days before two gigs so I used my sons Randall as a poweramp, it worked great for the gigs playing through one 4x12, my problem is we play through stacks at rehearsal & I'm not sure how to hook the head up to two cabs, there are two speaker outs on the...
That was over 25 years ago but I do remember thinking the stack sounded amazing but that was probably down to the two speakers rather than the amp itself.
I bought my 12 Reverb in 1991 & still use it today, it's been overshadowed lately by the little KK combo I picked up but I'll never part with it, never tried a Lead 12 but I did try out a Lead 12 stack, it ruled.
I've owned the DD-2, DD-3 the only one I have now is the DD-2, I never owned the 2&3 at the same time but I think they are very similar, I always wanted a DD-7 for the extra features it has especially the analog mode.
I'd say any of those will do great.
One thing guys, I use a 100w Mosfet head, will that be to much for that cab being that it's 100w, that has always been something that has confused me about Greenbacks due to my normal cab being a 1982A (320w).
I have played it but not for a while, I'll have another blast this week to check it, I think you are on the money with what you are saying, if I wanted to get it looking better it's going to cost a bit so was thinking £250 & since I've known him for years & use his studio I might be able to get...
Just had a look on Ebay UK & there are 1935 cabs ranging from £55-£900, £900 being pretty mint while £600 being the norm but they are in better shape than the one I'm being offered.
That cab was in pounds, I did a quick search last night & saw one for £1500, it was in really good shape though. Maybe some expert will chime in with something we are missing.
