Loving both amps. However, would be nice to have a true channel switching amp. Think I may pass on the Vintage Modern and get on the lookout for a nice used DSL 50. A JCM2000 model. It's a matter of economics after buying the Jubilee and it would be an amp I might use 20% of the time.
Now the proud owner of a Jubilee 2550. The seller was a great guy who had had the amp pre sale inspected by a local 'go to' amp tech who I am familiar with, but have never had the need to have an amp serviced with. It is that 'sound in my head' amp and couldn't be happier. I'm running it through...
The Jubilee I wanted has sold! Argggghhhh. They are rare birds in Canada. So if I buy one from USA even a steal at say $2200US is $2400CDN then add shipping, duty, taxes and that would put it at about $2600CDN.
Now the 410h is back on my mind.
Little road trip today. They didn't have a big Marshall selection but did have a 410h. Crazy. Having just sold a Boogie Mark V the multiple choice of options wasn't a show stopper. Would have liked to have seen a 205 or 210 but non in stock. Tried to get me interested in an Engl Invader but not...
Hey. Thanks to all. Based on last 2 replies suggesting DSL or JVM I think I have to plan a road trip to the city and try both. I think 50 watts is all I will need. The JVM looks intriguing not sure I need 4 channels but thought the same thing when I bought the 3 channel / 9 mode Mark V. Found...
Thanks. I play at home or practice with friends, bit a gigging band, in a building on a farm. Closest neighbours are a mile away.
My pedal board is an over drive pedal and a reverb pedal. Previously I played Boogies. MK 4 MK 5 practice amp was a Rocket til I got the MK V I could dial down...
Yes. Spinning a little. But all good. Opened my mind to the possibilities. Marshall just makes so many damn good amps. Set my sights on whichever meets immediate needs to satisfy that sound in my head and add another down the road. I've been scouring the net and if I win the lottery tonight it's...
Thanks to all for the great advice. Loud won't always be an option so I may have to rethink a Plexi. In addition I do enjoy gain. I see the Slash signature has a built in antennuator. Might be worth more thought. But the DSL, VM and JVMs sound good too. I'd like to keep it simple and not have to...
Actually I think I tried a 50 w version of that and liked it because it had reverb.
What about the signature amps the Malmsteen or Slash and Randy Rhoads. See a bit about them here. Maybe 100 watts isn't the way to go... But I do have a good OD pedal and a reverb pedal. Maybe a DSL or JVM...
Thanks. I YouTube'd that amp too. Very nice but A tad over my budget lol
But I am looking for lots I gain. Should mention I had a JCM 800 then a 900 about 15 years back. Liked them but wouldn't go back to them.
Looking for a change. Been a non Marshall player for a while. I've been told the Plexi (which I think is also known as a 1959 or SLP??) is what I should try. I also read a lot here about the Jubilee amps and DSls. I have tried a 40 watt DSL combo and liked it, but don't think it is for me But I...
