A girl once asked me why the nails on my right thumb, middle and ring finger were long, but all the others were short. Told her I played guitar and she said "that's so cool".
I had a groupie!
That does make sense, I have seen PC boards crack and things become un-soldered, like the battery clips on GM keyless entry remotes for example.
I should probably search some pics to get a better idea how both are made.
What is the benefit of a chassis? The only thing I can think of is heat dissipation, but does SS generate that much heat?
Mount components to chassis, mount chassis to MDF.
Mount components to MDF.
What's the difference?
Didn't have much time last night, but on a JCM800 / Classic Marshall 100W patch, I was able to make the shorting buzz artifact come and go by raising and lowering the threshold, in this case about the 1.9 level. The gain of the amp and/or pedal also had an effect so that 1.9 is no magic number...
I managed to dial up a couple of patches that don't "short out". When I get home tonight I'll see if I can figure out what does the trick, because I have some patches that are almost identical where one will have the decay buzz and another won't.
Just got the "pedal in stock" E-mail from Sweetwater but I don't know if I'm still interested.
All three of the distortion modes (some more than others) create a harsh, garbled noise that becomes more noticeable as the note fades. I've been tweaking the amp for a month, I've turned down the gate...
Thanks crossroadsync and johnac968. I'll try both your suggestions this weekend.
I'm a caveman without a home computer, so I'll let you know how I make out when I get back to work Tuesday.
Thanks, I'll keep trying for that AC/DC tone. It's not that I'm lazy, but I'm starting to think I may have a problem with the distortion pedal circuitry in my CODE. Even dialed down, I get a garbled, buzzy sound, especially as a note fades. Not giving up yet.
Hi, I'm having trouble getting good sound out of my CODE 50. Saw your post #19 in the "longhand for now" thread, but could you be more specific as to your settings for AC/DC?
A couple of AC/DC songs are my favorites to (try to) play and this amp is starting to frustrate me. I've never had a tube...
Just got a Code 50 last night. Tweaking will be an adventure.
Want to thank andy k for the breakdown of the presets, looks like a lot of work, appreciate it. I think it will help me get a feel of what does what at what level.
Looking forward to people posting their settings for songs/artists...
