    Marshall 8080 vs 8040 help!

I had originally thought that a 8040 was just a lower powered 8080 with a few added luxuries...but now that I've got in it hand I realized that the 8040 has a single fixed boost channel while the 8080 has an OD1 & OD2 boost channel via a switch. So my question is... 1. What is the single fixed...

    Celestion G12L question...

I recently picked up a cheap Marshall valvestate 4x12 cab and it had the newer label Celestion G12L 35W speakers in it... any idea how these compare to the whiteback label G12L-35s? Same thing? Different?

DSL c19 mod - affect on green channel??

I'd like to try the c19 cap mod on my DSL100H in order to improve the red channel but I can't find if doing so will also have an impact on the green channel as well. Does that cap mod only affect the red channel? I want to sure I don't mess with my green channel at all as I love it!!

    Jcm800 4010 mid cap wiring

Thanks, I've got the schematic and it certainly shows the wire coming from the bass pot connected to the right lug on the mid pot (and that's how I have it set currently). Howver, everything I read and see has folks just clipping out or otherwise just removing the cap and leaving that wire...

    Jcm800 4010 mid cap wiring

First off thanks forum members...I tend to just to watch and read on from this site rather than posting...so thanks for all the knowledge gained over the years!! My question...It's well known that the JCM800 4010 is the same as the 2204 with the exception of the extra cap on the mid pot going...

    Jcm800 4010 Assistance...

I spoke to my amp tech today and he basically said the same thing as marshalldog... shouldn't be any damage by having the el34 in a 6550 setup in the jcm800 4010 - the issue might be getting a good bias set without any additional mods. I'm going to have him check everything out to include the...

    Jcm800 4010 Assistance...

Thanks guys...the fact that the guy before me was using el34s it in... would that have done any damage? It looks like a 1K resistor across the tube socket, which i think would be the correct resistor for the el34...might that have prevented any damage?...or is it already screwed and should I...

    Jcm800 4010 Assistance...

I can provide pics this evening but it's not a Canadian amp and I don't believe it to be European. From what I've read certain US market amps also were factory set for EL34s. From what I've been researching I'm going slide out the chassis and see what resistor is across the top of the power...

    Jcm800 4010 Assistance...

I have a question that I could use some help on... I recently purchased a used jcm800 4010 (S prefix serial number so 1984 I believe) and when I got it it had EL34s in it. With the jcm800 4010 most came with 6550s with only certain few being made to take EL34s stock ftom the factory. I know...
