Chinese vs Indo guitars - which are better.. or less bad?

Was going to mod a JVM210H, but biasing it hotter was all that was needed. Tried a retrovalve blue as well.
I got a JVM210H from a friend and was kind of on the fence about it. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. It felt just a bit off and maybe a tad compressed. I looked up the mods that are popular on this and was considering the resistor changes that make it less compress and reduce gain a bit...- golem
