frying bacon noise in ch #1 of 1959 (with sound sample)
It's usually the 100K Carbon Composition plate resistors that are the culprit. Replace them all with new CC's, Carbon Film or Metal Film resistors of the same value.- Neal

Anyone interested in a Dagnall OT for DSL50?
Ultron, you said you still have the xfmr and would sell it to me for $25 shipped. I Paypal'd you $25 on May 9th and now you aren't responding to my emails. If I don't get a tracking code from you soon, I'll have to file a claim with Paypal. I would rather just have the xfmr.- Neal

Questions On Ampeg V4 Filter Caps For The Experienced Techs
RickyLee, I recap many V4/VT22/V2's and I use caps from Weber. I use 2 - 100uf/100uf-500V can caps for the duplex section, but 50uf/50uf-500V cans are ok, then I use a 20uf/600V cap which eliminates the need for for the "shared" half-can/half-discrete electrolytic cap, a 50uf/50uf-500V can cap...- Neal
