Ampeg A412BV mislabeled speakers

So I went and checked out this cab last night, supposed to have Celestion V30s in it. I get there and we open the back to verify, and it has the V30s but it has 2 16ohm speakers and 2 8ohm speakers, I thought, huh kinda weird. Bought it anyway. Here is what I’ve found out after getting home.

Cab is 1991, very cool
Plywood construction
ALL the speakers have 444 cones.
Basket stamps are all the same as well
24FA T-4297 14

That make them all 16 ohm speakers.

What’s up with the 8ohm labels?
Did they run out of 16s?
Just curious, anyone else run into this?

The basket stampings are the 2speakers label 8ohms.

I have 2 1x12 ampeg cabs loaded with v30s... the labels are in line with the reality, thats really weird man.

Oh another thing, are they 55hz or 75hz. On Bygone Tones page there are not any notes next to that T code. We have been wanting some 55hz speakers so it would be very cool if they were55hz.

To be safe, I'd go ahead and meter each speaker, but that is very strange.

I did, the pairs are in parallel and they both pairs read 6.8 ohms.

2 16 ohm wires in parallel should be around 7 ohms

The cone doesn't determine the wattage, the voice coil (and magnet to a degree) would. This is certainly weird. On the pic with all four it looks like the "8 Ohm" speakers have more glue around the back of the magnet.

Don’t think reconed, the baskets all have the same stampings on them. The 2 pictured are the 8 ohm baskets, looking up the T number indicates it’s a16ohm V30 ceramic
