Hi All,

Does anyone have a copy of the Dagnall Specification sheet for the D2105 mains transformer used in the JCM 2000 DSL 100W amp. Since Dagnall are no longer operating I can't download one, hoping someone has a locally backed up copy.

I'm looking for a cost effective alternative or a used one if anyone has one for purchase please.

Thanks

Jon, is this the specs from an OEM replacement transformer or the actual Dagnall? (looking for the latter).

Hi ntrueman

I’ve been looking for a replacement myself as my TSL122 went back to Marshall UK recently and they said the PT was fried.

There are no drawings for the D2105, Marshall didn’t retain anything when Dagnall closed. They have no alternatives.

I’ve found 2 manufactures ( which in theory can deliver to U.K.) and have the following specs from them

Tubeampdoctor (Germany] looks visually very close to the Dagnall

Input voltage of 2x 117V

Secondaries:-

360V 430mA

21-0-21V 150mA

3.15-0-3.15V 8A

Hammond; (Canada) looks a little different, pre-wired

Input voltage of 2x 120V

Secondaries:-

338V 450mA

21.5-0-21.5V 150mA

3.15-0-3.15V 7A

Slightly different, I’m not sure if that’ll make a lot of difference, I’m no expert. Sorry. I don’t know if either of the above are close to original spec.

Can anybody else help please?

Thanks

Hi ntrueman

Are you happy with the tubeampdoctor PT? How does it sound? I’m going to be importing into UK which is going to cost a bit so happy to hear of your experience?

Thanks

I'm in the USA so the voltage is different. I changed it, changed the main board (conductive issue) and fixed other issues like the Mains board cap being short circuit etc. Typical jcm 2000 repair. It sounded great afterwards (I happen to love the jcm 2000s) but I couldn't play it before repair so can't comment on before vs afterwards for this particular amp.
The customer was very happy with it but I fear for customers who still have the old board as Marshall have stopped making them. This is particularly bad since Marshall should have done a recall on all of them and are now taking away the only true fix after making money from selling replacement boards for years. Without even a last time buy!

Thanks for the info, very helpful.

Agree on the recall. Mine went back to Marshall twice within first few years from new (2002), first time under warranty for the C46 resistor replacement and footswitch socket replacement. I didn’t know at the time but by then they were retrofitting the newer issue PCB boards due to thermal bias drift issue. Mine finally fried itself about 10 years ago. I’ve spoken to a couple of amp techs in the UK who are considering making their own main PCB now Marshall stopped supplying the Issue 20 boards.

Yes I am hoping someone does a board which is switchable for Dsl 50/100 and tsl which would make it easy for me to keep a few in stock and be ready to repair any model which comes in.

Ok folks, scratching my head on replacing a TXMA00061 transformer with a Mercury Magnetics transformer. New model is a Axiom M-JCM2000-P Power Transformer. Trying to trace through schematics is difficult at best IF you can find what you are looking for! Part of the main power input transformer is on one page, part is on another page, and then the bias section is on yet another page.
It looks like Marshall ran the primary side of the transformer as 2 separate primary windings if you are using US 120v service. As on the schematic, there are no connections on the power board for W4 to W5.

I've tried to cut and paste from the7 pages of schematics to build a cohesive picture.
