Hi,
Maybe this is a stupid question.
On the grill of my Marshall cabinet there are some humidity stains.
Which is the best way to clean them?
Can I use a wet towel?

Thank you

What is the style / type of grill cloth?
Pics would also be helpful.
Stains probably won't just wipe off with a damp cloth.

I don't know how to say which is the material.
But this is the model of the cabinet:

Thanks, I meant pics of yours showing the stains.

I'm not sure what grill is used on the SJ cabs.
Most likely a black basketweave or somweave.

Most grill is not actually "cloth" - it's tightly wound paper.
Moisture stains are probably not going to wipe off.
The coloration of the paper strands has been altered by the moisture.

You could pull the baffle, remove the speakers, and try some black stain / dye to even it out.
Might be easier to just replace the grill cloth for about $30.

Oh I didn't understand what you meant.
Anyway this is the pic of my cab.

My main concern is if these stains are only an aesthetic issue or if they could damage the speakers.
Thanks for the help.

My main concern would be the source of this moisture.
Was that from some sort of splash, or did it happen over time?
Pic looks more like mold than a moisture stain.
Eliminate the cause before trying to fix the result.

I'd pull that bottom speaker and have a look at the cone - it's made of paper as well.
And have a look around at the cabinet wood on the inside while you got the back off.

It's not only something that happened on the cabinet.
It happens on this side of the house because of the high humidity (especially on the walls).

Sounds like a bigger issue than cleaning grill cloth.
It's just going to keep happening unless you can change the environment.
Some sort of de-humidifer?
I'd actually be more concerned with your amp(s).

can't be good for guitars either...

yeah, mold, unfortunately, requires a strong chemical, like bleach to kill it. Obviously, you can not use bleach on a black paper cloth to clean mold. You could probably use Kiwi black shoe dye to touch up the cloth & make it black, but... you will still have mold, & mold is a living organism that multiplies/grows...

If you don't get rid of it, it will only get worse. You can put band-aids on it, but, it will always outgrow the bandages...

I agree, you need to control the environment more, figure out how to keep the moisture out &/or have a mechanism to control it, once it gets in. Mold on the walls can be bad for health as well. Not good for human health, nor pets, if you have any...

here's an image of the dye. Not sure what they have in your region...

if you use this, make sure not to get it on anything white, or the grey tolex...
