Hi, I found this early '80s JCM 800 - 2203 vertical input on sale, and I need help to know how original it is, before buying it.

Can anyone tell me if it got through some major modifications in the past years?

Looks like someone made an efx loop which has been now removed.

Thanks for help

Well, I'm not going to zoom in and trace every wire, but first glance is telling me that's in very fine shape. I've seen a LOT of heavily modded ones. If the price is right...snag it! Only you can determine it's value to you personally. What i would do if shipping is involved is to arrange a Facetime or Zoom session and have them live demo it so you know it was at least functional before it ships.

As for the obscure holes where maybe a loop was...?...it obviously isn't museum quality. Soooo, you're back to price and your desire to have it. I usually check Reverb and assess what recent sales are showing vs. condition.

Good luck! I'd buy it if the price was right. Oh...and WELCOME to the forum!

Price is too good, only 1200 euros! I'll go and try it in person, it is 4/5 hours drive from where I live but I think it is worth it!

Thank you for your help!

Yeah that really sucks about those holes but the rest looks ok. Surprisingly sloppy heater and pot wiring.
