The Colorado Avalanche play analyst Peter McNabb Died today.
I will always remember him for the infamous and totally awesome bench slash fan brawl at the end of a Bruins at Rangers game Dec 23rd 1979 known as The Shoe Brawl
You really have to watch it a few times to understand it all but it was started by a not so smart NY fan right after a Ranger loss. The fan tries to take a hockey stick from a Bruins player who pursues him over the short dasher (protective glass shield). Then other fans begin to hit the players in the stands. McNabb 8 can be seen going after the fan hitting other players, Followed by Mike Milbury 26. McNabb holds the fan down while Milbury takes the fans shoe and proceeds to hit him with it. Best all time brawl back in the day when Hockey was a truly brutal sport with full bench brawls almost a normal thing to expect.
