A couple of weeks ago my doc said my LDL was high so I have been intermittent fasting for 2 weeks.
Today there was an auction at https://auctions.gardinerhoulgate.co.uk/auctions/
and I bought 43 lots.
Dont go shopping when hungry.
Although I think I did well I have no idea how I can use it all.
My theory is after China invades Taiwan the USA will impose a blockade and prices will go up,
better than having cash as there is soon to be a financial crash and manic inflation.
At least if I tell myself that my behavior is semi logical and less scary.

Most of it is junk or standard but there are a few interesting items I would like some comment on.

1994 Marshall JCM900 100 watt Hi Gain Dual Reverb 4101

Eli Abbott Princeton Tweed hand wired guitar amplifier

Marshall 1 x 15 bass guitar amplifier cabinet

2013 Marshall DSL 5C guitar amplifier, with foot switch

1981 Fender Pro Reverb guitar amplifier,

1960s Selmer Futurama Caravelle guitar amplifier,

Custom made 1 x 12" valve guitar amplifier combo

Supro 1605R Reverb guitar amplifier, with upgraded Jenson C8R speaker (original speaker included)

Any opinions welcomed, most of it I have been able to google but the Custom combo and the Eli Abbott amp are still a mystery.

Should I change the speakers in the Fender Pro Reverb ? I have a couple of new Celestion 12's that I could use.

There seemed to be differing opinions on the supro online, some people said they returned it, some said it was overpriced.

Another couple of days of the auction to go. Yikes.

43 lots?! You could have just gone vegan and saved a fortune :D

That Selmer and mystery combo look very cool. I was also interested in the Fane cabs, but surprised they didn't include any internal photos.

I thought this AC30 Super Twin went rather cheaply at around £1500 (albeit with new/replaced speakers). Will be interesting to see where these spares end up...

Anyone in the UK who wants to help me with buying the Acoustic Control Corp catalogues? I can pay back with money, tubes, mustard caps, etc ;)

What you showed there would make a nice collection for a player to play with. If you went in with 2 grand in your pocket and came out with all that, you would probably be doing well for yourself. Top distortion and clean gear.

Very nice!

Not sure that 1x15 is a marshall as the baffle doesn’t slope, stick up some snaps once you get it!

Tbh can’t really argue with that price, and you can alway sell whatever you dont want to keep!

I bought an early Orange 4x12 with pulsonic G12Hs in one of their auctions a few years ago. Add the buyers premium on and shipping collection it can get a bit more expensive than flea bay etc, but they do have some nice and interesting things.

I was looking for an amp (yes just one)
but once I knew I was going to collect all the shipping charges became zero.
Then when I had spent a grand I thought whats £100 on a pedal I always wanted.
And so on ....

Any opinions on these ? are they worth spending time on ?
from Bygonetones :
T2974G12-65Ceramic15 OhmSmooth cone. 3609 cone.
Celestion 65.jpgCP30.jpg

As a StarWars fan I thought the CP30 stamp was cool but I doubt if anyone else would notice it.

The date code is Mar 1981
One of the speakers has a small rip in the cone.
They are in a horrible homemade cabinet / spider breeding farm with weird connections.
Should I put them in a new cabinet ?
or does the old cabinet have a vintage punk vibe ?
Should I change the connector to a jack socket or would that make it less authentic ?CabConnectors.jpgCabConnectors.jpg

Custom made 1 x 12" valve guitar amplifier combo
I know this is the wrong forum because I dont think this item is vintage but I thought I would keep everything in one place.
Let me know if I should move it.

Does anyone know what this is based on ?

Any opinions on quality or components ?

Why are there 2 empty tube sockets ? does it matter ? is it safe to power up ?

Thanks.
