Got a 1965B cab recently, and now an A cab turned up not far away: Marshall 1965A, 4x10, S/N 10749, Celestion G10L-35 (T3554, LW173554 3, all four the same). If I understand the speaker date code (LW17) correct this time it would mean November 17, 1988. The B cab had KW24 (Oct 24, 1988), so these cabs seem to have close by date of manufacture. Also seems like all eight speakers are original to each cab.
Comparing A/B I would say B sounds better on its own, with more balanced sound that's more pleasing when playing by myself. The answer to the question which one to choose, A or B, is definitely both. The stack has a great sound, I think. Tight and well defined rhythm sound, and nice, aggressive lead. The latter of course depends on position relative to stack. LP or Strat through SV20, or superstrat with active pu's through DSL20, all sound good. Now I have a lot to try out during the holiday season. As a comparison my 1936 style 2x12 has a deeper bass, and fuller sound. I like to have options.
These cabs are 8 Ohm each, so I cannot connect both directly to my DSL 20 (no 1x4/2x8 jacks). Luckily I added "full set" of speaker outs (1x4/2x8, 1x8/2x16, 1x16) on my latest M2 attenuator so I can connect that one in between.
It looks good with a stack in the music room (although not a full size 1960), and I think the Marshall 20W heads sit nicely on top. This cab (and head) size, or maybe the 2061, might have been a better choice for 20W range.

NCD: 1965B
Got another Marshall cab today: 1965B, 4x10, with Celestion G10L-35's in it. Really handy at 20 kg (45 lbs) and 615 x 620 x 305 mm (24 1/4 x 24 1/2 x 12"). Anyone who knows how to date this cab? S/N 7718, speaker code T3554 with chassis leg stamp KW24355410 (same on all four). The long number...
