I've been looking for a (practice) amp that could serve like a practice amp without costing me an arm and a leg. So I ended up with some older solid state amps.

I had my eye on a :
- Marshall Valvestate (but sold already)
- Marshall MF350 (but it's extremely dirty and has dust all over the fans, I don't trust it)

So, now my other options are 2 Randall amps.
- RH100 G2
- RH150 G3 + ValveDynamics

Any opinions on these? Is the "ValveDynamics" worth the extra money?

Btw, is the headphone output on solid state amps something ok?
It seems nice on paper, but does it work nicely for practice at home?

Be fine for practice amp. I use to have an RH100 and I had fun with it. I gigged with an RG100ES and got compliments on its tone but it had more mids and not so modern heavy tone...without boosting. Never tried the G2 or G3 but prolly in the same neighborhood as the previous RH's.

The Valve Dynamic version is REALLY worth it, especially for metal. One of the best metal amps for cheap, IMO. Make sure you get the G3 Plus, since the regular G3 had problems.

For vintage stuff, I'd look for a Marshall VS100, Lead Mosfet 100, RG100ES, or an RG1503.
