Orange 212 With Scumbacks Vs 1960ax

I currently have an orange 212 closed back with m75 scumback speakers. Think they are 60 Watts each.

My amp is a YJM100.
I play pretty loud

Anyway I can pick up a minty 1960ax. It’s not vintage so probably has the Chinese greenbacks in it.

My 212 does the job but barely hangs on at times.

Looking for advice whether you think the 1960ax would be an upgrade and can handle the yjm.

2x12=120 watts
4x12=100 watts
AX is a good cab but not enough watts for a YJM100 at full tilt. You would need 2 AX cabs!!
or a quad of creambacks. G12T-75 pair nicely with that amp. I am not trying to talk you out of buying the AX cab (especially if it's at a good price) but you will need more watts at full tilt.

Yes. Very valid point.
I prefer to run the amp wide open without the epa with both volumes on 2 Jumpered. When I can... I go for more

It’s just on the verge of breakup. Then I hammer the front end with an OCD and Timmy.

Not really sure what the amp is putting out but sometimes even the 2 scumbacks struggle with the low end. I’ll often crank back the bass.

So I don’t run it totally cranked. Think the ax could keep up?

If your 2x12 is 16 ohms then you could run both cabs together, assuming you buy the AX.

how about something like this? if you do not like the vintage 30's how about a quad of the 60 watt m75 scumback speakers? I have 2 of these B cabs. solid wood. one has g12-65's in it and the other has G12K-100's
