How’s it going folks,
My dad’s work buddy just got himself a used Marshall Valvestate AVT 150H head and matching cab. Unbeknownst to him however, neither of the overdrive channels are working. The clean and acoustic sim work just fine.
All of the lights on the buttons turn on when activating the channels. We also have an original footswitch.
I went ahead and started by replaced the 12AX7 tube but alas, no change. There was an original 20 year old Marshall 12AX7 in there so I figured I’d start with that.
I also cleaned out all of the jacks and pots with deoxit with no change.
When I plug a cable through the FX Return, I get sound from all of the channels.
Hoping someone can help out a guy getting into the basics of amp repair.
