play bass thru a marshall amp???

I play bass guitar in a Iron Maiden tribute and my question is can I play bass thru a marshall head with out damage?

Not a marshall bass head a guitar head?

Yep, most likely no problems, just DONT use a guitar cab as you will most likely blow the speakers because they can't handle the frequency.

Of cource yoi can but make sure the cab can handle it, use a bass cab with it, Try a JCM 900 with your bass, it's a better bass amp the a guitar amp, you also can try a fender bassman wich is originaly made for bass guitars!

my question is, why would you want to?

an amplifier is an amplifier, it will amplify anything you put through it.
