Posted my intentions on a post earlier on the Vintage Section. Only realising now it should be in this section.

Anyway my friend invited me round to buy his amp tonight.

I bought it.

I did a good deal.

'78 JMP II 1987. All original other than a Loop fitted.

Mint. Mint. Mint. Mint

Sits nicely on top of my 2203 :headbanger:

Killer. Congrats on the beautiful aquisition! MAN, that is clean looking and I wish I could find a vintage that had a loop installed. The effects loop is a must for me.

Thanks man got it for £575. ($895)

I think thats pretty good. Just had full service, tubes caps, etc.

Other than my friend one other guy had it from new. Serviced by the same guy for the last 30 years who I know and who speaks highly of it being babied.

Just playing it now. The 50 watts is a little sweeter sounding to my ears. Of course it will still take your head off...

Hell yeah. You got the real deal at the same price I paid Monday for a 2010 50 watt Plexi re-issue. You did well.

I run a Alesis Quadraverb in the loop for Reverb, Delay etc.... and I can also use the Alesis as a Master volume control to attenuate the head as to not take my own head off. :)

Congrats again, enjoy. I look forward to hearing some tones.

The 1987X is killer. Well done man. There are deals to be had at the moment thats for sure. Prices are well down.

Just going to have to go a couple of months without eating now to cover the cost.

At that price I couldn't resist.

Guys this is supposed to be a '78.

Anyone know why it still has the old toggle switches?

I thought by 76 they had switched to rockers?

I know there was a 'spare part' crossover but did it last 2 years?

Any way to date with the serial number (pictured)?

Nice amp! I saw it also still has a Bulgin connector. Be careful with that and you'll be fine.

Gr,

Gerrit.

*Post clip?

Yea, the Bulgin is still in great shape as well.

Going to look at some guitars today. Will record a video over the weekend and post it.

Any idea why it still has the Toggles rather than the Rockers?

Perhaps its a canadian model. From what I understood is that they later changed to rockerswitches due to safety regulations
