jvm410c down again 2nd time in 6 months

The only time I had a problem with my 410H was using a Russian tube in V3 I believe. It has failed 2 times. I put in a Preferred series 725 from the Tube Store and no more issues.

    Marshall 1974X 1x12 2010 handwired or PC

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I built a Mojotone 1974X using Tad tubes and EH tubes on a turret board. I tried a few different speakers and settled on a Greenback 25. Biased properly it was great at all volumes. I compared a real hand wired version belonging to my friend Joe, to...

Where do you buy preamp tubes from (US)?

I buy all my tubes from The Tube Store. I really like their Preferred Series tubes. I have a lot of NoS tubes, but i find I really prefer the current production quality tubes.

    V30 vs Creamback

For me the Creamback 65’s work perfect for me in my 1960A cabinet. I’m using a JVM410H for my amp. For me it’s a the perfect match for classic rock. I have tried a lot of speakers from vintage to new. The Creambacks as far as I’m concerned is my bet match to date.

    Troubleshoot my JVM

For me, having the test points to measure the voltage in my JVM and the pots right there, is simple enough on the JVM. I ‘m not a repair technician, but I am reasonably careful and don’t rush through connecting my hooked probes to the test points to read the voltage and staying within the 70%...

    Troubleshoot my JVM

I know I might be a little hot, I actually called The Tube Store told them my numbers, they thought they would be fine for their tubes. So far no red-plating, over the last month or so, just the best sound ever out of this amp.

One Song, 33 Amps! (amp collection tour/walkthrough added!)

Guitarjon, I didn’t notice what speakers were used with the JVM demo and Tubes used. I’ve played around with mike for just about 10 years. I finally got mine balanced from speakers to power tubes and preamp tubes. I’m asking so I have a better reference as to what I’m listening to. Thanks

    Troubleshoot my JVM

I highly recommend getting the Preferred Series EL4 ‘s from The Tube Store in Canada. They transformed my JVM completely. Also, using a volt meter at the test points inside the amp, you can adjust the numbers to get the bias from 70 to 80 mv. It helps to know the plate voltage also, because...

    Constant talk of volume

After experimenting with my JVM410H for about 10 years, I finally figured out its all about the setup. Correct speakers and proper power tube biasing, filling in the holes with the preamp tubes. I very easily dial up my volume and gain, adjust the tone controls and dial back the master volumes...

    My JVM 410 sounds bad

I have a 2007 JVM410H. For the most part the 410H wasn’t bad, especially after 3 or 4 very simple Casey Butt mods. I have a lot of amps and don’t play the JVM all the time. Earlier this year I went to use it and it sounded exactly like you described. So I did a preamp tube roll, no real change...

    Comparing G12t-75

I have 4 new ones in a 1960B style cabinet. I find them to be loud ,brash and make my amp sound very noisy and wanting to feedback even at lower volume levels when used with my Marshall JVM410H. I did try them with a 94 Fender Twin Amp and it wasn’t to bad, I would say the sound character...

    JVM410 buzz noise issue

I’ve had my JVM410H for just about 10 years now. I never really had noise issues with mine. I can tell you for sure, that The speakers you use can greatly enhance the noise issue. For example, when I first got the amp all I had was a 1960B cabinet I built out of Baltic Birch to factory...

    Acoustic through JVM

I have used my 2 acoustic guitars with my JVM 410H and my 2X10 partial open back cabinet that has 2 Weber California’s. I have an Ovation 30th anniversary 6 string and a Ovation Custom Legend 12 string. Both sound great with the JVM on clean green. The ovations have EQ and a notch filter and...

    JVM 410 mild tubes?

Ramiro: I truly believe the G12T75’s really do not go with the JVM, and possibly a lot of other Marshall’s. So far the only amp that seemed decent with the G12T75 i’d my 94 Twin Amp. It’s basically a very dry amp without a lot of upper mids. It does bring out the noise in that amp also, but to a...

    JVM 410 mild tubes?

I hope your tune roll gives you what you were hoping for. Over the last 9/10 years, I went through a lot of preamp tube rolls based on the findings of some really smart members of the JVM forum. For me trying a wide variety of tubes from my stock of RCA’s, Telefunkins, GE, Sylvania and CP tubes...

JVM vs DSL for hot rod JCM tones

It still amazes me that so many different players have so many different reactions to all the amps and speakers, liking and disliking. I guess each on of us gets lucky from time to time. I have definitely bought amps, speakers and pedals that got good reviews and did not work for me at all.

    JVM410h Crunch Channel

I have my JVM410H nicely dialed in. I have a Preferred series in V1 and a Mullard reissue in V2. But I recently put in the Preferred Series EL34’s, properly biased the output tubes. I like Yellow Crunch fo som Cream style Clapton tones. work with the channel volume against the gain and the...

JVM vs DSL for hot rod JCM tones

I think of the JVM as a high performance sports car. It really needs to be set up. If I would have listened to the JVM410H with the stock tubes and bias calibration along with Celestion G12T75’s I would say that was the worst amplifier I ever heard. After owning the 410H for about 9 years now...
