Well, I have you as well as others posting with advice contrary to yours. With that ignorant attitude I'd prefer if you didn't post in my thread anymore.
I can get a matched pair of Groove Tube EL34MD's. So if I do that both have to go either on the left side or right side? I assume they don't go middle 2, outside 2? I have biased in the past so that's not a huge issue. What do I bias to in mV?
So, I just received my head and one of the power tubes is out, it fires up for about 30 seconds and then goes out(tried it in a couple spots). First, will I damage the amp if I use it with one tube not working? Second, I live up north and the closest guitar store only has one matched pair of...
I did some research and apparently I am wrong on the guitar speaker subject. I was going back to my days of designing and building car audio systems. In that area we always wanted 2 to 3 times more power than the speaker rating so we could deliver clean wattage without clipping. In those high...
If you use too little power one tends to push the power amp section into clipping which overheats the voice coils = not good.
More power runs cleaner at higher levels since you don't have to crank it and won't overheat the coils = good.
I'd have no worries taking a 50 watt head and running...
Looking at buying this from a guy, head and cab for $2500. This fuse keeps blowing. Maybe one of you guys have seen this before. Looks like FS104 which feeds a bunch of caps and resistors, maybe the tubes? I have the schematic...
I've been reading a lot and doing some youtubing, I think the thing I didn't like about the original was the fizzy gain. Seems the HJS tamed the fizziness somewhat. I'd really like a Marshall in my line up of amps, seems every head I have has that same heavy 6L6 sound. I'm trying to diversify?
Looking for a Satch head. I'm looking for a decent deal, I just sold my $3200 Road King for $1400 so I have funds available!! Shipping will be to Canada.
