i used to be a chevy fan. now i'm older and wiser and love any car that's cool.
my first car was a 72 nova 307 my brother gave me. i miss that car :(

watching some Frank Zappa vids the other night i stumbled upon this video
anyone who knows Franks work will know this is over dubbed.
apparently this guy BluesMK gets a kick out of overdubbing vids and posting them.
if i met BluesMK i would punch him right in the nuts.
now the real video with...
"i know one band that will remain nameless that says they never listened to black sabbath. i'm like, then your an idiot. that's my answer to that." - Scott Ian
amen Scott :headbanger:
Scott seems so freakin down to earth. and seeing him play AC/DC on a SG and loving it, i have all the more...
50W and a 2x12 on end is a killer combo in my opinion. real men? please.
a real man can get the job done with half as much. also lets me get speaker
distortion at lower volumes than a 4x12.
to double the loudness of a 50W amp you would need a 500W amp.
with power distortion a 50W head puts out...
don't listen to the purists __HM__. i have a blue light on the amp me and my brother TradAmpGuy built.
it's nice to have something different. same reason i don't own a LP or a strat. :p
some tubes just tend to be more microphonic due to their construction.
combo amps are more sensitive to microphonic tubes.
research your tubes before you try them. finding a tube you love but is common
to be microphonic or becomes microphonic is a royal pain in the arse.
there is a great sticky...
condition doesn't matter as long as it's fully functional.
these must be good because they are hard to find used ones.
i found one locally but it was gone as fast as it was posted.
prolly for the best since his ad had a lot of stuff with the tags still on them :Ohno:
<jedi mind trick> you don't...
i had a loop installed on my 89 2204 along with a switchable boost.
cost me $150, but that was 10 years ago. i used the line out for the boost switch jack.
i would never use it anyway. mic the bitch :naughty:
good luck in your quest
wow. i bought my 89 2204 about ten years ago. paid $400. granted i had to
have a tech take out the botched hot rod mod and swap the 6L6's for EL34's :wtf:
i'd be willing to part with it for $4999.95 :laugh2:
i often wonder how a UPS would work for this. how much impact does
the 50/60hz sine wave effect guitar amps? i think some UPS's kick on only when there
is a voltage drop/spike.
lowering plate voltage is no big deal and can give you some killer brown tone.
lowering heater voltage however will...
aren't the newer crybaby's pots sealed for longer life? my used Dime Crybaby
looks like it's seen it share of gigs and the pot is quiet. maybe they make
sealed pots for older wahs? :hmm:
if i were to buy a 4x12 now it would be a 1960A with a couple of invaders (50W greenback clone)
and a couple of Veteran 30's (60W) in a X pattern from warehouse guitar speakers.
more affordable and smoother than celestion's. but then again i'm a 2x12 kinda guy :naughty:
not familiar with the...
kudos Riffraff :h5:
do they make a noise when you switch it on/off? i was checking out Jack DeVille's true bypass system.
i was thinking of putting it in my EQ or in the my looper when i build it.
it looks pretty slick as long as his system doesn't color the sound.
Jack DeVille Electronics...
nice thread jcmjmp :applause:
i just acquired a Dimbag wah rev B (based on a 535Q) and it has a red fasel.
do newer red fasels need potting?
bypass... according to wikipedia the 535Q doesn't use single pole switching.
"*The 535Q is almost true hardwire bypass. While the circuit is arranged...
thanks for the info 61rocker :)
yeah i compared them to a new Shuguang and the plate setup looks the same.
my ECC83's sound much better than the new 12ax7a and 12ax7b's but all
are noisy and suck for getting clean tones. good Metallica type tone though.

i hear a lot of guys saying the whammy 4 isn't as good as the WH-1.
but for the price a used WH-1 is going for, i would get a POG2 or a HOG if
you want a pitch shift pedal. EH also seem more organic and less glitchy.
[edit] i'm going to try the MXR bass octave pedal out and report back.
i think...
