Just wondering if anyone has ever seen a Marshall combo like this with the logo in the lower right corner. This is from a picture taken in 1977. All I know about the amp is that it wasn't a master volume and it was a 50 watt combo.
I agree. I think the vast majority of musicians see Ohms and the omega symbol everywhere on amps, cabs, and speakers and so they ask about ohms because that's what's marked on the back of the amps and the cabs and they just want to match the ohms.
I agree with the other poster about using the...
Doesn't sound right to me. I own pretty much this exact head - 2204. I think mine is 1986. The master volume on mine goes up pretty steadily until it reaches 5 and from there it seems to get just a little louder, but mostly just gets more breakup in the main tubes. I wouldn't be surprised if...
I picked up a Class 5 head over the weekend. It sounds fantastic. Power tube breakup at practice volume. To my ear it's about 1/3 the volume of my 50 watt JCM 800. I used it at practice last night. Almost loud enough without being miked, but I have a loud drummer.
If this has been dealt with already, please give me a link if you want. I have a 50 watt JCM 800 head and a 1960A 4x12 with G12T-75s (which I love BTW).
So the cabinet is rated at about 300 watts. My JCM head is 50 watts. I've heard that tube watts are louder than solid state watts. Also that...
Shot in the dark. When I got my first dfx amp (30 watt - used) I noticed that every time I fired it up, it had reverb on it even though the reverb knob was on zero. Then I'd move the reverb knob up and down a tiny bit and the reverb would be gone. Come to find out that these amps retain settings...
Hello,
I signed up back in Oct of last year but haven't really started following this forum until lately. I'm a Marshall fanatic. I wear Marshall T-Shirts. I own 7 different Marshall amps: MG10, MG30, MG100 head, 2xVS100 heads, JCM 2000 50w DSL head, and my favorite: 1986 JCM800 50w head. I...
On my 50 watt JCM800 '86 model, it won't allow both jacks to have something plugged in. One defeats the other if something is plugged into it. Can't remember which one, the high or the low.
