How many guitars do I have? At least 12.
The only ones I play on a consistent basis are my 2 Les Pauls. The cherry burst is a 2013 Traditional and the Tobacco Burst is a 2014 Traditional. Don't ask me how many amps I have...
I'm an old fart. Give me a Les Paul and a Marshall and I'm happy. Second choice would be a Telecaster plugged into a Fender amp. Two completely different sounds but they're both magical in their own way.
I find myself spending most of my playing time on the Crunch Orange setting with the gain dialed way back. It gives my Les Paul a satisfying growl in the 1 to 2 range. I've got my Boss GT-100 set up with the 4 cable method and still have to get the clean and crunch channel levels equal. Right...
I got it set up and connected to my 1960A cabinet for rehearsal last night. I had my Les Paul plugged directly into the amp and didn't use my GT-100 unit. It's a different beast than my Blackstar and took a bit of trial and error to get a setting that I liked. It's going to take a bit of time to...
I started my account awhile back, after purchasing a brand spanking new DSL-40C, but that amp is long gone and I've been playing through a Blackstar HT-100 for the past year. I was browsing Sweetwater late last week and saw this JVM210 that was a demo and was significantly discounted so I made...
I got deployed to the desert in January 91 and we all went ~30-35 days before they finally built us a proper field shower. It was baby wipes, water cans and the occasional rain storm that kept us going in between.
I can't believe the difference between the 1960 and the MG412 cabs. I've been playing the DSL40C through an MG412 for a few weeks now and thought it sounded pretty good. After firing the 1960 up and hearing how it sounds I'm ready to toss the MG412 in the dumpster.
Picked up a 1960A cabinet off of Craigslist this morning. Now my DSL40C has a new friend.
My wife is going to throw a fit when she sees that I came home with yet another cabinet...
So I went out and bought me a present last night.
I've wanted a Destroyer since I first saw Phil Collen playing one in the "Photograph" music video. Took me a few years but I finally got one. Posed it in front of the beat up old 1/2 stack I just bought off of CL.
I can't wait to get him jamming with a drummer. I've got a friend who's a drummer that just got home from overseas. He's looking to jam and we're getting a song list together. I'm going to start teaching my son a bunch of classic rock songs and have him tag along and play rhythm guitar. He's...
Don't feel bad. My first guitar was a Montgomery Ward's brand SG copy and a cheapo 15w amp combo. Think of the Walmart combos you see out there, and then step it down a notch. I remember wasting a roll of electrical tape on the body of the guitar in an attempt to make it look like something EVH...
I had posted a thread earlier asking for opinions on purchasing a used MG100HDFX and MG 412A cabinet. Only got 2 responses. I took my son with me yesterday evening to go check it out. Other than being filthy and having some tears in the tolex, the amp and cabinet are solid and in perfect working...
