    New AFD Demo...

Hopefully this will solve some of the "How to get Slash tone" threads for a while. :) I'm afraid we are still somewhat screwed if people can't afford the AFD100 and have to make due with what they have though....

    Studiotime :)

I don't think hes using that rig anymore though. I watched some recent live stuff on youtube and I saw some Vox AC30s and some Fenders of somekind.

question about DSL 100 roping black or white?

+1. The original DSL series with the white piping was discontinued in 2007 or 2008. The DSL100MLB is the reissue of the original DSL100. As far as I know its the same amp just a bit different cosmetically (back grill also black).

    Any TSL and DSL Owners?

I agree..... As to where the TSL sounds thin, lacks body/punch, and is very loose sounding.

    Any TSL and DSL Owners?

I hear ya. The TSL's front panel overwhelms me when I look at it. I also prefer simple.

    Any TSL and DSL Owners?

Does anyone here currently own both the TSL and DSL? Or even used to own both? I've honestly never played a TSL but wonder why most seem to prefer the DSL over the TSL. Can anyone explain the difference in terms of tone? Also, does their tone differ significantly or just slightly? I just read...

    Looking at a used DSL50

The DSLs with black piping are DSL100s. The "Regular" DSL50s (in which the thread is about) are no longer in production.

    Looking at a used DSL50

A tube change once a year is a general rule of thumb but I think it mostly needs to be judged based on your playing situation and how often you play.

Help!!! My JCM 900 sounds absolutely terrible!

TO ORIGINAL POSTER: Listen to yourself. Your tubes were changed 3 years ago and the amp sounded great after the tube change 3 years ago. Now you are complaining about how the sound quality of the amp has gone to shit. Could the amp need a retube to get it back to how amazing it sounded 3 years...

Thats correct.... The DSL50 has been discontinued as of 07 or 08 I think.

    Looking at a used DSL50

I think tubes generally need to be replaced once a year but imo can be stretched depending on your playing situation and how much you play. It's moreso about how much playing time is on the tubes and how much it is pushed rather than how old the tubes are. If you are a regular player of a tube...

Slash Tone = JCM800 or new reissue head
