I'm going to be starting to play guitar for a jazz ensemble in the near future, and I need to get an amplifier setup for it. I just got a $250 bonus from work to spend, so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on what would be good in that price range for jazz. Thanks!
I started a FS thread on this a long time ago, but I've reduced the price significantly, so I thought I'd start a new thread on this.
I have a like new condition 2009 Gibson SG Standard has hardly been used at all. Still has the plastic on the pickguard. I bought this thinking I'd use it...
It's both the pickups and the large vs. smaller pickguard. I like the looks of the new smaller pickguard a lot better.
... I'm mostly looking to just sell, as I'm playing my V most of the time, but if there was someone who was looking to do a swap, I'm up for it.
Awesome V! I actually just put a new set of Suhr DA's my my Gibson V, along with all new electronics. That's what made me think of raising this from the dead. My SG has sat unused for too long, and it would be nice to get it into the hands of someone who will use it more.
I wouldn't quantify any of these comments as good or bad, just the quality of the 500T. It was a little too hot for me, although I was comparing it to the 498T that I have in my Les Paul. I'm not sure if it was the number of windings or the ceramic magnet, but I couldn't get it to clean up as...
Original 2005 Gibson Flying V '67 Reissue Humbucker pickups pots in very good used condition. Everything works as it should and sounds great! 12" of conductor to the 496R and 8" to the 500T. $115 shipped in the CONUS.
OK, I pulled the pickguard off and got some pictures of the WCR's. They are indeed 2-conductor pickups (plus a shield). Here's some pics:
Crossroads:
Godwood:
I haven't taken the pickguard off and looked yet ... I'll do that tonight, and get some pictures. According to the WCR website, the Crossroads and Godwood are 2-conductor + ground. I'll verify that tonight.
I recently purchased a Gibson Flying V, and it has a brand new set of WCR pickups in it that I'm selling. The neck pickup is a Crossroads, and the bridge pickups is a Godwood. They're in like new condition. I'm selling them for $100 each shipped in the CONUS. Also, if you're interested in...
I just bought a used Flying V, and it is currently loaded with a WCR Crossroads and a WCR Godwood. I like them, but they have white bobbins, and I'd like to get black pickups (black bobbins).
I'm not necessarily looking to replace them with WCR's ... just looking to see what's out there...
