I just picked up a 1979 JMP Mk.II 100 watt lead head.
I looked at the power tubes and the two outside ones are labeled Rivera Research and Dev. It's also labeled 6550A , number rating "7" stamped on the base. The middle two tubes are Mesa 418 (shuguang, I believe). It is loud as hell, a good...
After posting here awhile back about my 2210 problems, Of course it had mismatched power tubes, no biggie, changed them out had new ones put in and biased. Upon inspecting I noticed on of the tube sockets had been burnt before due to arcing occurring. I had that changed. Finally got an 800 cab...
It's a 2-hole vertical input MV
And the thing is I love my 2210 I just need to get one of my power tube sockets replaced. As it has old charring on it. But it oozes tone.
I'd like to use it in my 80's metal cover band, but am not using it until I get the socket sorted out.
I would like to have...
1979 JMP 100 watt.
The thing is I bought the 2210 for a good price had it re-tolexed and new power tubes put in, biased. And I still have less than $1k in it.
Now I have a chance to trade my "2210" for a 1979 but theowner said it's ohm selector is hardwired to 8ohms.
But he is willing to...
I'm about 60 miles SW of OKC, straight south of Hinton in Anadarko. I've tried one tech from Edmond. He works in vintage amps. I knew he wasn't thefuy when he didn't know that it had an adjustable bias.So I found another guy in OKC at a place called Lonewolf guitars but didn't notice the...
So I get my power tubes changed and re-biased, and this is what the third power socket looked like. Should I get it replaced, the old tubes didn't have any signs of charring and it sounds killer after the bias' done.
Is it susceptible to future arcing.
Ok so I got a set of Chinese power tubes and had the amp re-biased and thenew tubes put in, well it sounds great. But the tubes still had the Made in China sticker on the glass so I took them out one at a time to get the stickers off.
When I got to the 3rd power tube socket I see this . But the...
