    DSL100HR - 6 days in, issue!!

Glad to hear you got it back working. My DSL100HR has been in the shop for 3 months for the same problem... well similar. Started popping randomly, with the frequency of pops increasing as the amp was powered on. Checked all the usual stuff... found out that these cheaper Marshall amps are...

    Dsl100hr Mainboard

The tube sockets look hand-soldered, but the bottom of the board has some cold solder on the through-hole barrels. However, it's soldered good on the top side of the board, where it must have been wave-soldered. No problems with this amp, sounds amazing!

Here's a look at the DSL100HR mainboard. Not sure if someone had posted one yet.

Helpful Tip For Dsl20 Owners For Ultra-low Volume Playing

Buy a cheap VU meter, wire a 1/4" female connector and level your input whenever you make changes to your signal chain (pedal gains/volume, EQ, etc). Most fizz comes from over driving the input to your preamp. * You can hear the effect in the OP's video as his recording device was being...

    Dsl100hr External Bias Point Question

Measured plate voltage on my DSL100HR @ 439V with 123VAC at the wall. Bias set to 76mV.

    Dsl100h Ohms Question

Good thing to remember is whenever you have a parallel resistance (ie: 4x 16 ohm speakers in series-parallel, the total resistance Rt is a little LESS than 1/2 the lowest individual resistance (2x16 ohms in series=32 + 2x16 ohms in series=32 then paralled to get a bit less than16 ohms in this...

    Dsl100hr Tubes And Tones

My (humble) opinion is that those mods are good if you're wanting to run tubes with specs that fall outside the working range of the stock board, causing a loss of frequency response, bias adjustment range, etc. Since the main shape and tone are formed in the V1 preamp, it seemed logical to...

    Dsl100hr Tubes And Tones

I'm running a Marshall MX412AR with the stock Celestion G12E-60 speakers, which I considered upgrading at first, but I figured I'd try the $100 option first and I'm glad I did. The stock Celestions sound amazing (especially when driven) with the new valves. I've seen some bad reviews for these...

    Dsl100hr Tubes And Tones

I thought about it, but I wasn't really looking for less gain, I liked the amount of distortion and where it was breaking up, I just didn't care for the tone. There was so much Bass it just turn to Mud when driven. Some people have mentioned the JJ sounds like a blanket thrown over your amp...

    Dsl100hr Tubes And Tones

Purchased a dsl100hr 6 months ago from Guitar Center. From what I have read, and experienced, the ultra red channel gain cannot be used above 3 or 4 without mush. I have also tried various bias settings, and ended up with 76mV for a good musical, dynamic, accoustic sound on the classic green...
