I wanted push back wires for the restoration but was rightly corrected that Marshall did not use those back in the day. I believe we used reclaimed wires from the correct period and British manufacture in the end.
No worries Ken, sounds like you had a great time! :)
Totally with you on the archivists. I personally have not received any information from them whatsoever, as there really isn't any on these.
No, I was not Ken, but I am aware that you were, when you were younger, and I have seen various examples of these amps.
I'm happy to debate and to understand things, like when and why the heater wire colours changed. For example, as I said, the amp you own conflicts with what you've said...
Hi Ken,
With all due respect Ken, I feel I need to respond to a couple of your points.
I have to disagree about the colour of the heater wires. I have come to understand that early Dudley amps did have black and white heater wires. In fact, from the pictures I have seen of yours, the heater...
No problems, I wish the few of these that are about would get more exposure. Just think what was going on in the music scene in 1964! The Jimi Hendrix Experience, at the Royal Albert Hall hadn't even happened yet (1969!).

It looks to be a VOX or...
Hi everyone,
These come up for sale every now and then, and generally, they command fairly high prices. This one looks to be mid-sixties, perhaps 64. I've retained the shell that is came to me in (even though it's a bit odd), it's part of the history of the amp. The shell's been...
Hi All,
Currently have a project on restoring a certain vintage amp (JTM45-esque).
I currently do not have a suitable cab and am thinking of building one specifically for it.

I'm thinking 1x12 or 2x12. Any recommendations on speakers...
Being that I am new here, I thought i'd say a quick hi! :)
I've been a viewer of the forum for many years but never signed up until now!
Anyway, I have had a few Marshall's over the years. Nothing really to write home about. Mainly things like DSL401 and 40c's (not that they are bad amps!)...
