Marshall ST20C Vs Marshall Studio Jubilee 2525c

I can get a good tone on the clean channel, I just get a crazy volume jump. If I turn the ds2 or other distortion pedals down I lose the feedback sounds. Just can’t win lol if I turn the amp gain up I will have less of a volume jump and can crank the pedals but the tone is too dirty and doesn’t...

    2525h tube change question

So I’ve looked around the forum and I’ve seen people putting different tubes in their 2525h/c and 2555x but I can’t seem to get a clear answer on whether there need to be changes made to the amp if you’re putting bigger/different tubes in. It seems like people are dropping in 6L6, KT77, KT88...

Marshall ST20C Vs Marshall Studio Jubilee 2525c

I bought the 2525h with a prs cab that has a g12t-75. With the master on 8, gain on 2-2.5 with the rhythm clip pulled and a ce1 pre amp pedal I am pretty spot on with a John Frusciante tone. Idk if the amp I bought has different pre amp or power tubes than factory but I’ve noticed the break up...

Very loud screeching from distortion pedals

So I’ve had a positive grid spark for awhile with an Mxr dynacomp, super badass variac fuzz, DS-2 and ce-1 preamp pedal. I always had this terrible glitchy screeching sound whenever I turned the DS-2 and fuzz pedals on whether separate or together. Now I’ve upgraded to a 2525h and have the same...

    NAD: 2525h

Having the rhythm clip on with gain at 2-2.5 and master on 8 as well as a ce1 preamp at 12 o clock high output mode is pretty much the sweet spot. I was just playing before work but with a backing track for the first time and honestly, it doesn’t sound like too much gain when I play along with...

    NAD: 2525h

The more I play the amp the more it seems hard to get the right amount of break up, but even if I get close to the chili peppers sound in my head it’s not near enough break up to stop my distortion pedals from having a huge volume jump lol I’ve been playing this game for a couple days now. I...

    NAD: 2525h

I don’t think I have the skill set or knowledge to build my own but I will definitely consider that thank you, I’ve read a lot that the JohnH attenuator affects the tone the least

    NAD: 2525h

About 4 years ago I had a 2525c and thought it sucked because I couldn’t turn it up. Now I’m in a place where I can crank an amp so I bought the head and a PRS 1x12 cab with Celestion G12T-75! Just got the amp today so haven’t had a ton of time to play around with it but it’s definitely loud and...

New to marshall. In the last year i picked up a silver jubilee 2525h with 2x12 cab and a jcm 800 studio. Im lost as to setting them up. Suggestions

I bought a jubilee 2525c about two years ago, sold it after a few months cause it sounded bad. Turned out I just never turned it up loud enough. Are you playing it with the master and gain very low?

NAD!!! Well a little while ago but still…. NAD!!!

The only Marshall’s I’ve ever owned are an MG30 and 2525c. I’ve sold both but I thought the 2525c was pretty thin sounding and ever since I’ve wished I had original 100w or 50w, seems like almost everyone thinks the bigger original amps sound better than the 2555x and 2525.

Setting sound marshall jubilee John Frusciante

YouTube will gallucio, he has a 40 minute video on frusciantes tone and mentions slane castle. Something about flipping the polarity with the overdriven ds-2/fuzz tone made a difference

    Another Frusciante tone/amp thread

I was playing around with my positive grid and ce-1 pre amp clone last night after I made this post and with the Hendrix 100w plexi I had the EXACT tone I hear from frusciantes jmp 2203 live videos I see… and it sounds almost exactly like the old jubilee live shows lol sounds like I’ve been way...

    Another Frusciante tone/amp thread

I’m not ready to buy an amp so I’m not sure why I’m worried about it (I have too much time right now lol), but I’m a big frusciante fan and I play a lot of frusciante and Hendrix. So for awhile now I listen to live shows and clips of him in the studio playing and I know he ran a jubilee/major...

    Jubilee clean

The way I see it with the jubilee, it’s a pretty versatile tube amp and aside from my few months with a jubilee where I couldn’t crank it I’ve been using cheap solid state amps. I’m a huge John frusciante and Jimi Hendrix fan and I like a lot of rock too. The jubilee is the main amp frusciante...

    Marshall major tone question

Wow a 100w major would be awesome! Especially paired with a 20w or 50w jubilee. I’ll definitely have to look into that when it’s time to buy. Maybe that’s a good plan, try to buy a 50w original jubilee and if that doesn’t do it for me tone wise I could add a 100w major.. that’d be the ultimate...

    Marshall major tone question

So when the time comes to get a better amp I’ve been planning on getting a 100w jubilee since I play a lot of RHCP and am a big John Frusciante fan… but I was wondering, since I love his live tone and he runs a jubilee and a major live, what if I got a 20w jubilee and an amp around 50w similar...

    Jubilee clean

Aside from 100w volume levels what’s a reason I’d be disappointed in the jubilee?

At the moment I’m pretty set on the jubilee but that could change

Yeah I think I can make a 100w work for sure
