1966a with G12M- 70s

So we picked up this cab over the weekend and it has a 4ohm G12M-70, the other speaker was an eminence, don’t really care about that one.

The date code puts it October 1987, was Celestion still making these in 1987?

I thought they were not very well liked.

Just wanting to date the cab which would be I think 1987, didn’t know they were still making the M-70.

I doubt that speaker is original to that cab, probably should have been a pair of G12T75's at 16 ohms wired in parallel for 8 ohm load.

Yes, I agree. We aren’t gonna use it, 75s would have been good.

Any date guesses in the cab?

And yes it is a great size. He uses 2 amps, clean and dirty. 412 each amp 2 speakers each for outside gigs and the 212 1 speaker for each amp for smaller and inside gigs.

The Jensen is for the cleans.

It’s a Jensen Blackbird alnico 100w modern

Ceriatone Plexi 50 with the Celestion

Ceriatone Dymble clone OTS with the Jensen

Ah I’ve heard good things about those - an Alnico that does metal! I’ve just put a WGS Blackhawk Alnico 50w in a 1x12. I think they do the same thing as the SRO which I think EV have a reissue.
Presume it pairs with the v30 ok?

We really like the Blackbird, very vintage sounding alnico, handles high watts well.

He doesn’t play them together, he A/Bs the amps
