Recently got a chance to sink my teeth into a 1967 JTM45/100. Has the original drake power transformer, choke, pretty sure it’s in the condition the retailer says it is.
From what I can gather the Drake 352-114 choke and Drake 1202-119 power transformer would place this amp somewhere as being made in 1967. The 1202-119 was specific to a run of JTM45/100 that was in production in February of 1967, which would make this amp one of the first 100 Watters with El-34s instead of KT66s.
But here’s the weird thing the back panel doesn’t say “ Super 100 Amplifier”. It just says Super Amplifier.
Anyway those of you who want to take a look at it, here’s the link
https://imperialvintageguitars.com/...jtm-45-100-super-amplifier-vintage-plexi-head
And here’s the website that I referenced for the info: https://folk.ntnu.no/roef/JTM100.html
But if you notice on the back panel, there’s a marking on the left that says Mark III. What does that mean?
Is this thing legit ? What else can we learn about this amp? There is a serial number…is it worth it reaching out to Marshall to see what info they can provide me?
