I believe Jerry Gracia played vertical.

Not sure who else.

Boutique Cabs seem to popularize vertical.

None of the above. I've got an oversized 2X12 cab with a diagonal array of H75 Creambacks.

I voted for ‘horizontal’, but only because I’d rather not have to tilt my head to the side so as to be able to read the Marshall logo. :D I see no other ‘problem’ with using it vertically, though.

In my case, it wouldn’t make any difference to my 2x12” (with diagonally placed speakers) Marshall 2061CX cab, at least in terms of speaker placement, as it also happens to be a slanted cab. ;)

I'm thinking of selling my 2X12 Cab. Replace with 4X12. I don't see why one would play 2X12 in the first place, when 4X12 is an option. Just the sound originating from 4X12 Cab is a sight to behold.

2X12 is sorta Meh!

i play horizontally. i would play vertically but my marshall head is too large for the cab being put on one side. i dont think that would be a good idea. i once owned a bogner 2x12 cab that was verical. the thing was freaking awesome. dumbass me traded it away like an idot.

I agree a 4x12 sounds much better..BUT...it doesnt fit in my car. I want to carry a 4x12 I gotta drive the wife's mini van. Besides, I generally just leave my 2x12 in the trunk of the Benz so all I have to do is grab an axe and a head if I wanna go play on a spur of a moment.

Vertical, but that's the way the caliber Series 2x12 is designed. Stock with V-30's by the way.

Vertical with my small heads. Horizontal with big heads or if i can either tilt it or put it on top a case or cab. I really like the sound of my open back 2x12 on top of a closed 4x12. Best of both worlds.

Neither at the moment BUT the one I'll be `using soon is NOT listed, Diagonal. I'm preparing to build some 2X12 cabs that are going to almost as large as a 4X12, one speaker will be mounted to the lower left corner while the other will be mounted to the upper right.

However, in the past when I played through a "rack" in the 90's I played "stereo" and went "Vertical"! :)
