Couldn't really find what I was needing in the seach function, so here's my question. Take a look here:

Marshall cab

And tell me this: Is this a 1965 cab? Supposedly it is a 4x10. Is this a good price, taking into account the ripped grille cloth, and assuming that the speakers are in good shape?
Also, what speakers were stock in these?

Anyone with any experience in 4x10 cabs, please comment. This is not so much a question of whether I buy or not, but in the future, we can have a solid search hit for the 4x10 cab questions.

Thanx bro's. :D

Hi
Since this cab is made in the 90's, could it be a C410 that came with the JCM 600 series?
Those came with Celestion G10C-30.
I'm not shure, but I belive 1965 were made in the early 80's.
1965 cabs came with G10L-35, I think.

Hey Birk.

Could be. I haven't seen it in person yet. I figure if I run over to take a look I might unscrew the back to see what it comes with.

The 1965s were the cabs made to go with the original valvestate amps, and were made in the 90's.

Really? They were also made in the early 08's and came with the Mosfet 100 amps.
At least my two 1965 cabs.

Honestly I'm not too sure, sometimes I love it, but others I find it fizzy/meh.
But for a 4x10 it sounds massive.

Thanks. Actually that helps. They guy wants 250 USD for it, but if it sounds like that some of the time I think I'll pass.

1965 cabs were made from '84 - '91,
for use with 3210/3201 Mosfet heads.

Howzit Mate! While most likely its a 1965a/b, but make sure that its not a 1972 2038 cab! If it is they sound great, it will be rated at 60 watts if it is!

I'm 98% sure you are looking at a
JTM c410 (2% off on account of the small pic).
colour, handles, the cavities on top
and the baffle-board mounted slightly slanted
point towards it.
If it is (an original) one it's rated 120 watts (16ohms).
I paid just a little more (in europe though) but
my cab looks like new.

I've been thinking about getting a 4x10 and throwing some weber's in em. Every last one I've seen lately has the grill clothe stained and are going for about the same price as the above cab from Reading. I did see one on craigslist in NYC in immaculate condition for $400 though.

ALso made to mate with the 3203 Artist heads & the 2204S (Limited Edition JCM800 in the 24" small box...same size as the Artist & Lead Mosfet, 3210, etc.)

And...FWIW...they kick A$$ & are absolutely great to lug around if you're gigging with it.

The 1965B cabs sound great, and are light and easy to move around. Only downside is a full size head really doesn't fit on top. Doesn't sound quite like a 4x12, the top and mids are smooth and the bass is tighter.

Mine is in good shape but somebody wrote all over the grill :D :D

I just bought a late 90's JCM 4X10 cab It sounds alot like my 1965a cab on top. I'v had it for the last 15 years I'm sure its for the early 80's, old when I got it.bought it in 95. I getting ready to
put new speaker cloth on both where they will match.Get this I only paid 150.00 for the JCM
and 250.00 for the 1965a back in 95
