i hear a lot of guys saying the whammy 4 isn't as good as the WH-1.
but for the price a used WH-1 is going for, i would get a POG2 or a HOG if
you want a pitch shift pedal. EH also seem more organic and less glitchy.
[edit] i'm going to try the MXR bass octave pedal out and report back.
i think it's limited to one octave down but thats all i want at the moment.
well i found a good deal on a used MXR Bass Octave Deluxe and i'm disappointed.
it refuses to track the fifth fret on the A string on my SG for more than half a second.
then it plays the dry tone through the effects volume. tested with Dry volume off.
it also adds hiss with or without the mid boost and just the Dry volume.
when im not playing and have the strings muted i can hear the pedal ticking.
granted this is on a high gain guitar amp but still it's a noisy pedal.
this pedal needs a noise gate when it's in use IMO.
when it does track right it sounds awesome but not tracking all the notes is
a deal breaker
i contacted Dunlop but i doubt there is anything i can do about it.
Whole-Lee Crap! I just went a-lookin' out of curiousity at the Roger Mayer pedals and found the Vision Wah Special intriguing... until I found the sale price - $699.95.
For $700, that pedal certainly has a lot to cry about. Wahhhhh...
I'll stick with my Harmonyman and Crybaby for now.
