You are 100% correct my friend . I bought an 1960Av a few months back from G.C and returned it, picked up a 1960Bv a few weeks ago and love it. Same speakers. It's A vs B is a huge difference. People don't realize it.

Yes indeed! While absolute opposite phasing can be fairly obvious, most folks discount the importance of the affect that subtlties of slight phasing anomalies can have on their sound! Of course, there are many folks who actually do understand and like what this phasing anomaly does to the sound and use it to their advantage. I'm not one of those folks!

look for an Orange PPC412 - well known for out-grunting Marshall cabs..

I totally concure. I have a BV. There is a BX for sale on local C.L. It's there much of a difference between the BV & BX? Do you like the BX. Thanks.
BX has Greebacks, BV has V-30's . SO yes quite a bit of difference.
JMP 2204 likes the BV
JTM45 likes the BX
Tried the JTM45 in the BV, and it was a completely different amp. Not to the good either,
