Hi,

i was thinking of getting a g412B cab.
i do own a 1960B

whats the exact difference between these two cabs?
dimensions?
thickness of material?
floating baffle?

it looks basically same to me.

obviously speakers from stock are different but these
have been changed anyways.

the 1960´s do have stereo / 16 / 4 ohms switching in the back i don´t
care for this either.

i just wanna know if the G412b is build well or exact like the 1960´s

thanks !

p.s. i only can find dimensions of the MG412 that cab seems to be smaller.
but when i compare the photos of the g412 open backed with my open 1960b
the space between the 12" speakers looks exactly the same to me.
so my conclusion is the g412B is the same cab as 1960 wihtout switching options

G412 = MG412...

why some people call it G412, is beyond me.

MG = Marshall Guitar 412

1960 - 4x12 Lead cabinet

1960 is 30" wide & tall, for the most part. by 14" depth, but, the slant has an 11º angle cut, so the top isn't 14" deep.

The MG, or G 412 is at least 2" more narrow & shorter. If you have a matching head (MG,, etc), it will match, because it also is a couple inches more narrow, to match.

from the Marshall site:

approx: 26⅖"x 26⅖ "x 14⅕" (WxHxD)

approx: 30⅓" x 30⅓" x 14⅖

If you have a standard 30" head, it will stick off the ends & look like Stonehenge™...

the label says g412b not MG thats why i guess :)

i don´t know bout the dimensions but they look very close to my 1960.
anyways it does not look like 10cm difference. in width for instance.

the wood and construction looks the same to me aswell.

Here's the Marshall page where you can find the information you are asking for, for yourself.

The 1960 cabinets are 770mm wide and 755mm tall.
1960HW and Vintage and X cabinets are 770x770.
MX, 760 by 760
MG, 670 by 670.
M412 is 755(H) by 765(W).

i think You did not read text completely :)
i found the dimensions myself ofcourse.

but i was asking if the thickness of the wood differs
and if the baffle is also floating like on 1960´s cab.

besides that you can only find the dimensions of the
MG cab but the label on the back clearly says G.

i don´t know about that exact model it just looks like it´s the same dimensions as the 1960.
see for yourself

If it says "Park a division of Marshall Amplification" on the label ?
That would be a cheaper not so good sounding budget cab ?
Build quality not as good as a Marshall.
Try googling Park G412.
