Hello,

I'm Michał and I'm from Poland.
I've just bought Marshall JCM800 2203 head and Marshall 1960AV 4x12 cab.
I'd like to kindly ask you, do I connect correctly everything, because it happens sometimes that I can hear strange buzz from the speakers. It is not related with plugin cable or turning on head. It's really random. Sometimes sound is totally gone and sometimes I can hear strange noises. I had similar situation with different Marshall cab, which was connected equally. Guitar is connected directly to the head and the instrument cable is brand new. I've checked also different guitars. I also have no idea how to set up level, bypass and mains - fuse - H.T. I have problem with translation from a manual, I'm not a native speaker.
In attachment you can find pictures of my gear and here is a sound sample
Have a nice day!

Michał

The plastic handles can vibrate, the back panel can vibrate, loose speakers can vibrate, brace inside cab to back panel can vibrate and caise strange noise. Blown speakers can also cause similar noises.

I have removed the T-brace from several of my old cabs (newer ones have an extra screw through the back panel) because these gave strange vibrations... Maybe you are having the same problem.

Regarding the brace...You can put some foam weatherstrip tape on end....or screw it to back panel as well.

dude, I had the same problem...1960 cab from 90s...it was rattling, buzzing, I tried everything.....put a fabric between rear wall and wood support, replaced handles...glued them down, even tightened speakers....nothing helped......i could not get rid of the rattle and buzz, people here were saying dont sell vintage cab from 90s...it is made from real wood not like birch that the new ones are made..........finally I sold the freaking thing and bought a brand new 1960 cab.....I had enough...it is not worth losing nerves over an old freaking cab...buy a new one
