Similarities with a V30, but waaaay more mid scooped.
Not sure what to think of this one.
Anyone here using V-Types?

Yep, got one in my Bassbreaker 15.
And I somehow ended up with one of the original prototypes.

My pickups and amps must be super mid driven, cuz they don't sound scooped to me.
Sounded pretty rad in my 5e3!

Errr, yeah. That is the first time I have heard of a V-Type being described as 'Mid Scooped'.
That would preclude any comparison to a V30!
'Mid-Tamed' yes, but not scooped.
I have the V-Type that came in my DSL40CR in a 112 cab under the DSL.
I installed a G12 Century Vintage in the DSL and the combination of the two works great, since they are similarly voiced.
The V-Type is the slightly darker of the two though.
Great speaker!

I have one in my DSL 40CR and it sounds really good. I also ran my old 100 watt super lead through the same speaker with an attenuator and it sounded so good that now I want a 2x12 with V-types.

i dont see this as mid scooped at all. To me its simply a polite V30

The best way i can describe the V type is it's a V30 for people who don't like a V30

Liking the V-type in my SV212 cab with SV20h head, and not even broken in yet.

Seem very balanced across the frequencies, they can do aggressive tones or vintage warm tones, plus great cleans, bass is nice and tight.

I’ve tried to like the V-type. Have 2 of them laying around. Just can’t like it. Nothing like a v-30, very scooped in the mids. It’s like a g12t-75 with the high and low end chopped off. I guess that’s why people don’t perceive it as scooped as it is. Even the 70/80 is more clear and articulate to me.

It's a major improvement on the unbearable Vintage 30. I understand why Marshall uses the V-Type in the SV112 and the SV2OC.

I don’t buy new speakers as a rule but I’m tempted to try a v type , lean business have them on offer for £75 so might try one .
