Owned this 2204HW for about 5 years or so, and although it sounds like I remember my old JCM800 sounded, I just don't care much for stock 2203/2204 amps. So couple months ago took the plunge on applying some Jose/Friedman mods to it. Ended up just making a Marsha clone with some BE100 values (given the schems I've been able to find online). Just waiting on shielded cable to arrive today, and should be ready to rock. Tested last night and it's 100% functional; just need to get rid of the HBE channel squeal due to lack of proper shielded cable for the time being.

Mods:
SAT, FAT, C45 switching options
Solid state effects loop kit from Ceriatone
Basic Jose/BE voicing
Added gain stage via 12ax7/HBE channel
Depth control pot in lieu of fixed value

Relocated the Depth control wiring to get rid of the squeal on the HBE channel, and re=did the HBE input with proper shielded cable. Took care of the squeal, so wrapped it up and stuffed it in the headshell. Will post clips as soon as I can get time to get them. It's sounding pretty wicked!
