Wasn't Paul Stanley recently caught using recorded vocals live? If so, maybe KISS should cancel the entire tour and hang it up themselves. Of course, maybe KISS doesn't want people to realize they are past their prime, so they just fake it instead. I'd rather see real than fake.

Big Kiss fan here, First album I ever bought was alive in '75, but Wasn't Kiss past their prime in like '79?.

And anyone who's heard Dave sing live ever knows he has always sounded like that..even in his " prime".

both need to hang it up but gene is correct in saying something has happened.
i think dave lost everything once he became a lounge act in vegas yrs back.
hasnt been the same since.

thats what makes this all funny to me anyways.
the one that brought you in is the same one that put ya out.
To be fair though, Gene was probably more interested in Eddie & Alex, than DLR...

MA was no slouch either...

It took Ted Templeman to bring out the best in them. Gene got the ball rolling though.

Also to be fair, DLR was past his prime long before the VH live album ft. him, recorded in 2013. Even Edward was like, , and so was the rest of the Rock world. But I wouldn't criticize KISS for letting him go, as much I would that they hired him in the first place. They should have known better.

Otherwise, I would go so far to say that the entire 80's wouldn't have "happened" without Randy Rhoads, and the LA scene's Micky Ratt and Van Halen. Eddie saved Rock guitar at a time when it was considered a dinosaur by the labels.

Dave was a lounge act in 1978 .....with a rock band behind him
VH's greatness came from the sum of the parts , not Dave or EVH
There was an unreal stupid chemistry that WORKED
They bought into their own hype ,if ya ask me
