My DSL 50 blew an HT fuse once, and I suspect that it was caused by a power tube. It never did it again, and one of those tubes did end up croaking after not too many more hours from that point.

Always have a spare set of known good tubes (and fuses) for troubleshooting. It's cheaper in the long run, and tubes do wear out and fail.
Exactly. Tubes n fuses!!
