Im just curious, what speakers every one is running or prefers with there DSL ?

I'm using the 75 watters. I like my DSL but feel it's lacking something and wonder if a speaker swap would be worth it.

Most of the time, I use G12T-75s (2) and Celestion Century (2) in a 4x12 cab. The amp sounds real nice with the G12-65 cab as well, especially for Strat->Marshall stuff.

If it makes a difference I'm using a mid 90s LP studio,490/498's, Green channel with a touch of extra gain from a tube screamer., I use the red channel for leads right now but may try an eq in the loop instead.

Tone is good, just needs something. I'm thinking maybe to V30s in the with the 75s.

The V30s, when broken in, will sound good in combination with the G12T-75s. A lot of people do that and are happy with that combo.

G12T-75's are fine speakers for rock and metal, but of course every model has its own sound. You might try new tubes a biasing it if you haven't done that before spending money on new speakers; a DSL correctly set up should sound sweet through G12T-75's.

One of the most significant variables that affect tone is speakers. Its best to try to talk with someone about what you think is missing and then try to go from there.

I like CL80s with my JCM800.
I just bought an Avatar 2x12 cab that I'm going to load with two CL80x.
I'll be using it with my DSL50.
I'll post a tone report when the speakers get here.

About as far south in Alabama as you can go withou
I bet they sound GREAT jett. Only problem is, with a 100 watter you gotta have both cabs to crank it. With the 70's I can safely run just one, which is real handy considering I drive a firebird. I can lug both cabs in my wife's jeep, but 1 cab and Im jammed for space in da bird.

Ya I use a 50 watter with it, but unless your diming the amp, you could get away with the 100 watter too.

I started with the stock speaks in a 1960a cab and changed out to all Greenbacks. For me, it was a great change and more what I was looking for. I found a great deal on two Vintage 30's that I might get to try in an X pattern with the Greenbacks.
