Apparently the money being sent is nowhere remotely close to being adequate . People are outraged that the majority of the money has gone to Ukraine and to help the migrant communities .

FEMA announced yesterday that there is no money left to respond to hurricane disasters for the remainder of hurricane season. Not sure if this is before / after they offered $750 to those most in need.

You forgot to add the part where local authorities threatened to jail the independent helicopter operators attempting to help . Couldn't believe it , what a disgrace . The mainstream media won't report on that but the helicopter operators are posting all over YouTube about it .

I’ve seen that, too. Disgrace is not the word I would use.

Donations are getting confiscated. Supplies have to be diverted so to get thru to the people in need. The suffering is intentional. Plenty on this is being posted elsewhere.

I'm seeing this kind of shit being debunked everywhere. There are a lot of scams and false rumors being posted right now. I don't trust anything I read anymore unless it comes from an official source.

And now there's this. My whole family lives in Tampa. Tampa's worst nightmare is a storm coming directly into the bay. I'm worried...

Of course it could go north or south of the bay, but none of these paths are good...

My wife- an RN, some other RNs and Firefighters brought a trailer full of supplies up into the region yesterday and seeing if they could help in anyway. They filtered in with a small group of other private citizens. They had to drive around for several hours to find a "supply dump" outside the heaviest hit areas so the supplies would not be found by FEMA or other Fed authorities. I'm not going to mention town names or where the dump was. The civilians and first responders they spoke/worked with helping in he region indicated that FEMA is definitely not on the up and up. They had been promised 300 meals days ago that never materialized and are taking/funneling everything to their own locations. The locals were taking the supplies out by ATV as things were being dropped off where my wife was. 2 helicopters flew into the drop where my wife is while she was there. One just a private citizen flying his own, the other from Samaritans Purse. Sadly it looks to have to become a game of cat and mouse.

I've seen enough pics and video from yesterday to corroborate the ineptitude of our Federal Govt. (But ive known that for decades). Believe the MSM at your own peril.

Edit- also one of the pilots who flew in told her that body count is low at this point because so many cannot be identified due to bloating. :(

That's the kind of stuff I've been seeing too. I could post a lot here but it would get locked quickly.

Question, when was the last time a Hurricane formed in the western part of the gulf then moved east?

Parts of east Tennessee are completely decimated. Newport which I live very close to is basically underwater and many of them will not have power or running water for at least two to three weeks.

If you haven't seen pics of I-40 yet, much of it has collapsed along with surrounding bridges.

I have family in Spartanburg and Greenville SC. They by extension have friends and family in NC. They aren't lying. The response by FEMA has been far too slow. People are still stranded and dying while civilians are stopped from trying to render aid.

People in the region are posting testimonials all over the place. I trust the people before I trust the government to admit how bad a job they've done.

My 2 cents.

Is anyone aware of what's going on in the Appalachians? I don't know if they're talking about it anywhere. No one I know in Florida (or anywhere) has tried to contact me to see if I'm ok so I assume they don't know what's happened here. After the Hurricane made landfall in Florida Thursday night it made a beeline straight up to TN. The center eye parked right over Knoxville and to the east the mountains in TN and NC got hammered with rain from the stronger side of the system. It had already been raining steady and non-stop since Tuesday afternoon and then the storm came. The rain totals broke every record ever recorded. We got more than a years worth of rain in 3 days. Across the border in NC they got over 30".

Almost very road is washed out in the mountains. Streams, creeks, rivers all flooded and washed out everything in their path. Dams over flowed. There are entire towns completely washed away. There are still places with no power, no cell service and no way to get to some of these towns. There are still hundreds of people missing and trapped with no way in or out and no way to contact anyone. They have no way of getting supplies, gas, food and water and no one knows when they will.

I got lucky where I live, we didn't even lose power, but just a few miles in any direction and it's destruction. There are literally no roads open across the TN/NC border, interstates and all major highways are all closed because of washouts, bridge collapses, mud slides and who knows what. I know it was bad in FL and GA along the path, but it was much worse up here and we are only just now starting to see just how bad it is.

Are you guys hearing/seeing anything about this?
I'm glad to read that you were spared.

It’s not that FEMA is doing a bad job, it’s that they are doing exactly as they are instructed to. Do not give assistance to the people in the region, and do not allow private citizens to give assistance. Let the people stranded in the hills suffer.

Yes, following orders.
