I had an indian back before they got trendy. I got it cos they were half the price of harleys, then all these tossers started saying they were the greatest bike ever built and prices went through the roof. So I moved on to ducatis, 10 years later same thing. Latte sippers everywhere. So I went to guzzis. I guess I should be grateful I had 25 years with them but now they are getting trendy. God I hate people...

Sure the SP isn't 1300 carb just before EFI? I did one up for sidcar dirt track some time back it went like the clappers with flat slides & a Barnett HD clutch kit. Run alot hotter than the Kwakka 900s though. Last of the real muscle bikes IMO.

Nope, it is a real SP from '97 - they came as either Kenny Roberts replica's or Christian Sarron replica's - at least here in the Netherlands........ Could be there where other SP's around the world though, I'm not shure about that!

It bothers me a lot not only that I remember when those were new, but that it feels like 5 minutes ago. The most modern bike I have ever owned was a 96 guzzi 1100 sport.....

Thats them. Here in OZ from 99 - 02 they went to 1300. In 2001they went from 38mm Makini carbs to 45mm I think.
2002 they went EFI next year 03 sp run was over. Guys were getting up 150hp & insane torque with the carb models & basic mods I'm sure, then some went on flat slides & some beyond. Barnett HD clutches were needed but being air cooled they run too hot covered in mud some were even complaining about stock exhaust temperatures using tham as commuters. The last steel capped boot in the arse of HD .. IMO
