As usual I have spent too much time looking at gear and have confused my silly old brain with too much information.

I have narrowed it down to 3 choices ,
Ebay - a nice 6101, collection only, about 40 mins drive. £400
Would be the no1 choice but I like my JVM410 and Slash SL5 so I dont need it.

OK, thats more than 3 choices, but whatever.
There is more, but thats already too much.

Looking to spend about £400 - £500, in one order.

Please can you agree what is the best buy and let me know.

Yes, thats true.
I am looking to get things I dont already have that will inspire me to try new things and give me more areas for tonal exploration.
I already have a lot of low quality and cheap guitars and amps, and a few good ones.
I have decided my bar for what I want to use is rising so I am looking for good quality and tone.

please don’t get a pedal

You have a thread about pedals you don’t use..😂😱😂

Or get a ring modulator pedal..a moog one🫦

When there’s extra cash i like to think out of the box

Have you tried a good concerto ukulele???
Playing ragtime on it through a marshall???👺

Trust me..it can get wild

Do you have a small bodied acoustic??
Marvellous machines..

Those effects you list are toys, expecially the reverbs and delays and modulation
Wanna discover new world at serious level?
For that money go stereo with a Suhr iso line ,stereo ss power amp and a used lexicon pcm from 20 years ago and go wet dry and you’ll get what I mean

But the ukulele would be a strong contender…

I would choose the LM6101. His clean channel and his channel 2A are amazing. Really different than a JVM 410 or a SL5.
Just IMHO.

I like this. A lot. But you don’t need it with what you have already.

Get it anyways so we can talk about it. We love gear.

I say buy some picks and strings and bank the rest, you'll know when you actually need something and won't have to ask others what you need. :yesway:

Personally I’d avoid the amp sim pedals, unless you really need to build a fly rig. For pedals, out of what you’ve listed, I’d lean toward the plethora and the fuzz. Different flavors of fuzz are always welcome, to me. I’m an amp whore, though, so the 6101 would be my first choice.

Yes, I have been looking at it for ages.
First it was about 350, now 325 on most sites, this is the first time I have seen it for 299.
Strange to get excited about saving 20 quid the amount of gear I have bought in the last year but I guess its part of the game.
Its a pedal I look at every week so maybe I wont get bored of it.
And it will make a good PC interface with a CAB sim, I have the Tonex but somehow I am not convinced by it.

Bought purple picks and 4 sets of strings last week,
put three sets on my guitars from the auction.
But dont get me started on strings, I get cognitive overload just thinking about all the parameters,
9? 11 ? 12 ? Cobalt ? Bronze ? flatwound ? Coated ? Nanoweb ?
and thats before brand, price and multibuy.

But I do need a trem arm I can fit my third finger under,
Are you supposed to bend it in a vice or something ? or cut it with a hacksaw like Gilmour ?
And Copper bridge pins are much better than plastic ones, maybe I need a couple of sets ...

Just throwing this out there if you already have a lot of gear....Why not try veering into a genre of music style you don't currently dabble in (country, jazz..whateva) to expand the creativity circuit. Totally Free.

I already have a lot of ideas to work on, the problem is there are too many ideas, and not enough energy.
I bought a large lot of books for £30 at the last auction, about 50 New Old Stock music books with CD's etc,
and there are hundreds of songs and tricks on Youtube I want to practice.
I usually practice for about 5 hours a day, but then I get tired and need a break and thats when I slob out and start doomscrooling and gearlusting. I do have things that should be done but I dont have the energy, clicking is addictive and catches me when I dont have the energy to escape.

Hey I have an idea, why not start a post called "help wanted deciding" ask everyone what strings and trem arm to get!
